It's pretty amazing that the moon is at the perfect distance from earth for it's size to match the sun and totally block it out.

A friend got them online a few weeks ago and gave me a pair.
I never think of this stuff on my own.

10% of the sun showing (90% coverage) is still a lot of sunlight.

I had greater expectations thinking daylight was going to disappear more that it did -
Fascinating to watch though, understanding we are just tiny specks of sand when proportioning ourselves in this great universe

Upstate NY was too cloudy, so it was a disappointment. The day before was totally clear.
I saw the one in 2017. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
